Tutto è più bello coi coniglietti!
I colori e i disegni del kimono sono stati ispirati da delle stampe di Hokusai, "Toeletta d'estate" e alcune tra le molte figure di donne allo specchio da lui dipinte.
Molti anni fa, un'amica aveva creato per prima questo tipo di illustrazione, ma nel suo caso si trattava di una mamma gatta. Ho dovuto provare la mia versione con una mamma coniglia! <3
Everything's just better with bunnies!
Kimono colors and patterns were inspired by prints from Hokusai, both of them called "Woman looking in the mirror" (he painted several of those).
The concept of this illustration was first developed by a friend of mine many years ago (9 at least), but in her case it was a cat. I just had to try my own rabbit version.<3

Quest'anno, per lo zodiaco cinese, sarà l'anno del Coniglio. Non credo nell'astrologia né negli oroscopi, ma per i coniglietti ogni scusa è buona! Enjoy! ;-)
(Non serve dire che il modello per il coniglio è Mango.)

I coniglietti sembrano tanto graziosi, ma in realtà sono animali molto esigenti - non meno di un cane o di un gatto - e spesso quelli che vengono comprati come regalo per le feste finiscono trascurati o abbandonati. Molto meglio un coniglio di cioccolata!

Bunnies look so cute, but they are actually demanding pets that don't require any less care than a dog or a cat. Many rabbits given as gifts for Christmas or Easter end up neglected or abandoned. Get a chocolate bunny instead!

Oggi ho deciso di deliziarvi con delle foto di Mango, lo gnappetto che da fine maggio è arrivato a casa nostra per fare compagnia alla nostra splendida (e stronziglia) Maia. È amichevole e dolcissimo!

E infine la foto più dolce che io sia mai riuscita a fare. Se non fosse per la mia faccia spiritata e le mie occhiaie da record, sarebbe una foto stupenda! ;-)
And finally what is possibly the sweetest picture I was ever able to take. Too bad there's my mad-looking face with those circles under my eyes to ruin it, otherwise it would be just gorgeous! ;-)

E questi sono i colori piatti. Ho cercato di inchiostrare in uno stile Art Nouveau, mi piace giocare con lo spessore della linea e forse anzi dovrei provare a osare di più. Il blu dei capelli mi piace (ovviamente... ho una passione per i capelli blu, se non si fosse capito!) ma credo non armonizzi bene con il resto. Credo che dovrà cambiare... Da notare come inizialmente non sapessi cosa far galleggiare tra le mani, e infine ho scelto un coniglio! I coniglietti ormai sono la mia passione... già da tempo sono diventati due, e presto andranno a vivere insieme! Per ora si danno solo i bacini attraverso le sbarre del recinto e sono davvero teneri. Ma lui ha ancora le sue prugnette pelose (lei è già sterilizzata invece) e dovrà aspettare ancora un po'...
Here are the flat colors! I tried to ink in an Art Nouveau style, I love playing with the thickness of the lines and perhaps I should try to do that even more. I love the shade of blue of the hair (I love blue hair, I think it's quite clear by now!) but I don't think it fits in well with the rest so it will probably have to shift into something else. Notice how at the beginning I wasn't sure about what to put in her hands, and in the end I chose a rabbit! I love bunnies, I have two now and they're scheduled to be bonded and go live together. For now they only give kisses to each other through the bars of the pen and they're really lovely. But he's still got his furry teabags (she is already spayed) so he'll have to wait a few more days...
In questo lungo tempo in cui non ho postato naturalmente non sono stata con le mani in mano, ma ho lavorato alacremente su Bluejaye. Sono soltanto a pagina 10... sono la colorista più lenta che conosco, accidenti! Eccovi un assaggino da pagina 9. Disegni di Jomar Bulda.

Pur non aggiornando, sto ancora disegnando e colorando attivamente. La maggior parte del mio tempo viene ormai assorbita dal progetto Bluejaye, del quale però al momento non posso dare anteprime. Abbiate pazienza!
E quel po' di tempo libero che mi resta viene tutto assorbito da una graditissima nuova ospite pelosa:
